Loved the internal staff manual wiki - an excellent example and so easy to do as we already have all the stuff typed up - its just not in the one place

Keeping up with the work

A think a lot of us are starting to fall behind in the programme, with many still not getting past the first base. I have managed all the weeks on time but I know from next week on we all start to run into 2 short weeks with Easter (and mine are even shorter with some extra holidays) so its looking like its time to prioritise. I am aiming to get through wikis and the next week before Easter and that way I won't be in a rush after Easter. Some of my work colleagues have starting having brain waves over how to use 2.0 technology in our library service and now its just a matter of consolidating those thoughts and then getting them okayed by management (which may be more difficult than doing the course)

RSS feeds

Well I have started to follow the instructions about doing RSS feeds - and have found that the recommended bloglines system is more difficult than the Reader available with your gmail account...was there some special reason why this was chosen???

Inspiration

Well after wandering around in some of the other blogs I was inspired by the stocking feet...so I have added in my tapping feet, along with their friends....and now my previous post makes more sense...

Flickr

Well, I knew about flickr already, and the Creative Commons bit - although I have never added my pictures here --- how much time does the e-world think everyone has.....as it is I'm trying to balance setting up an organisational blog, genealogical research for my ancestors and inputting into a school reunion yahoo groups thingy --- but if you are a photography fan go for it --- this image is called Tap Dancing and it made me laugh

How is everyone doing???

Well, amidst much hilarity in the workplace we have worked out that some people are getting very stuck on very minor issues eg what to call their blog (and actually it would be really helpful if someone pre warned you to have a few names up your sleeve in case the one you want is taken) eg trying to put multiple images on one post.....(I have found it works best to put one image per post) but it was great to take a look at some of the other blogs on the roll - it gave everyone a better idea of what to talk about and how this whole thing doesn't have to be deadly serious....

Sorting out the multiple blogs question

After some discussion with some "older bloggers" I have decided to not set up a profile , because it will display on both sites.....and I don't really want to set up another account. This blog is only temporary for the library 2.0 training and while I am expecting the other blog to keep going its probably going to have multiple bloggers and I may not neccesarily keep it on....
